Wait out the storm in Watersong... (Open!)
Lara watched the weather closely. Looked like it was going to be a rough night. The storm had swept in a little further down the coast and it was headed their way. The bar wasn't completely full but storms either cleared out the patrons or brought them. Judging by the steadily building trickle, this was a 'bring them in' kind of night.

Stepping behind the bar, Lara grinned at Michael. "Might be busy. Better get some vodka on ice...I think snowy cocktails are going to be in demand tonight." Michael only grunted and sighed in a put upon way. She laughed and went back to her stool at the end of the bar looking out over the filling dancefloor.
[ooc: feel free to pitch up and enjoy the storm!]

Plus, alcohol. He could definitely use some alcohol.
He checks his coat and straightens out his shirt, looking down to make sure he looks okay.
After making his way to the bar, he checks his phone and shoots a text to Mira to let her know where he is, and then lets his thumb hover over Ryder's name. He swallows hard and locks his phone, sliding it back into his pocket. He'll text him later, once he can manage it as a friend and not a hopeful guy with a crush.
He leans back against the bar with one elbow resting on it and a drink in his other hand, one hip cocked slightly as he looks out at the crowd and looks for a familiar face.

Well, too late now. Davin has been pretty understanding in the past, so Dylan hopes he won't be too freaked out or confused.

Davin watches Dylan sort of flail around, one brow raised curiously, and then leans in to read his phone when he holds it out. And then he just rolls his eyes and heaves a huge sigh. "You took that shit too, aye?"

"No. You're too good looking to be in my club. You're going to run off all my peoples clients." Lara said, grinning as she sat on the stool next to him and crossed her legs. "Oh how I wish I could lure you away from your day job." She held his chin in her thumb and forefinger and examined his face before making a disgusted noise. "Ug. Too much." Winking she took the drink her barman handed her. "Felt like partying the storm away?"
no subject
He winks and turns to face her, nodding and resting his elbow on the bar. "Somethin' like that. Nice of ya t'open the place up. Ya got a place for me downstairs if the storm gets too bad?"

"I meant down in Heart o' Gold," Davin says with a smile, but it slips from his face when he realizes that Owen could be here somewhere. He looks around with wide eyes and relaxes, just slightly, when he doesn't see him. At least not in the immediate area.
He wipes the troubled look from his face and gives Lara a smirk, turning to lean back against her chest, head resting against the top of her shoulder as he looks up at her and bats his thick eyelashes. "But I s'pose I can join ya in the suite. You an' Levi can be the meat in a nice, hot Davin sandwich."
no subject
He spots Davin near the bar holding a drink in his hand and he goes over to him. "Hey. So this is what the big fuss is," he asks gesturing at the people standing about on the dance floor.
no subject
"What are ya doin' here?" Davin gapes at him and sets his drink down, stepping up to him. "Did ya drive here? In a snowstorm?" He laughs incredulously and pokes him in the chest. "Ya gave me shit for walkin' two blocks in some flurries but ya drove your car from the forest in a damn blizzard?"
no subject
"Hey, I am a officer. I am trained for emergency situations," he protests, and then Davin is poking him in the chest. "Ow! Why are you----"
Okay, the weather was pretty bad outside, and he had to drive like a turtle inching along the roadways until he came to Watersong. But he was fine and never in true danger because the roads were empty as most of the town had taken heed to their cautious warnings to stay the hell at home.
He crosses his arms over his chest, sticking his chin out. "I was fine. Thank you," he grumps. "As you can see."
no subject
"'Cause you're a hypocrite, man!" Davin laughs and pokes his chest again before pulling his hand away. "But I'm glad you're here."
And yeah, he really does look fine. Like really fine.
"Wait." Davin narrows his eyes at James and reaches up to tap at his temple, just barely resisting the urge to see if his hair is as soft as it looks. "Can ya still hear what I'm thinkin'? 'cause I've had some whiskey an' I can't be held responsible for what my brain thinks about your ass in those jeans."
He blinks owlishly and then blushes. "Whoops."

"The usual, please," he said, taking the drink that the man already had ready for him before downing some of it as well as a painkiller. He was definitely going to need it.
"I really hope that the power doesn't go out," he said, glancing at the young man next to him. He should probably try and be social for a bit. "There are going to be a lot of disappointed drunk people if it does."
no subject
He turns towards the man and smiles in recognition. "Hey! Levi, right? I've haven't had the pleasure." His accent is thick from the alcohol and he hold out his hand for a shake. "I'm Davin. Pleased t'meet ya."
no subject
Even if Davin hadn't said his name Levi would have known who the young man was. There were only so many guys in town with an Irish accent that fit the description that Lara had given Levi. It was nice to finally meet Lara's friend though since he knew she'd taken a shine to the young man.
"It's a pleasure, Davin," he said, shaking hands. "I've heard a lot about you so it's nice to meet you in person."

Flirting.
"Oh no", she whispered before ordering a coke, just to be sure. She was here, now what?

The young woman at the bar looked deeply uncomfortable. Lara frowned and got up, heading over there. She'd rather people have a good time in her bar.
"Hello...is there something wrong with your drink?" She asked with a smile.
no subject
Lena might have been off the radar for a long time, but she knew who this woman was, and not just because she was gorgeous. And a siren.
"M- my drink? No, of course not. Definitely not. Thanks for asking." That was a stupid thing to say. "Can there be something wrong with my drink?", she frowned.

The storm seemed to have brought a decent number of people into the establishment, either looking to ride out the storm or have one last hurrah in to celebrate likely not having to go in to work tomorrow. It was giving him a headache but he enjoyed seeing so many people happy.
"If we get snowed in Lara should charge double for any couches in the VIP areas."

She leaned in to steal another kiss and looked up at him, smoothing out her thoughts the way she normally did in public so that he had a quiet place to focus on if he wanted it. "Hello, Detective."
no subject
"Lara is going to lose money tonight then," he said, kissing her back. He wasn't actually sure if she would lose money. She definitely had all the business savvy between them so if she thought dollar drinks were a good idea then they were probably a good idea.
"And hello, Miss Quinn," he murmured against her lips. He soaked up her thoughts, the calm clearness of her mind that she assembled for him. It was something nice to focus on amid all the thoughts of the crowd. She was literal a place of tranquility in a sea of noise.

"You'd be surprised how much more people drink when they know they have to face bad weather on the way home." She winked at him and settled on the stool next to him, crossing her legs and looking out over the dance floor below. "I thought you were working later tonight?" She said, tugging his tie a little to get him closer, soaking up his presence. It was unusual to see her mate here but she was glad of his company. Tonight would likely be a long one and she'd hate to have to tell him she wasn't going to make it home to spend time with him.
