Wait out the storm in Watersong... (Open!)
Lara watched the weather closely. Looked like it was going to be a rough night. The storm had swept in a little further down the coast and it was headed their way. The bar wasn't completely full but storms either cleared out the patrons or brought them. Judging by the steadily building trickle, this was a 'bring them in' kind of night.

Stepping behind the bar, Lara grinned at Michael. "Might be busy. Better get some vodka on ice...I think snowy cocktails are going to be in demand tonight." Michael only grunted and sighed in a put upon way. She laughed and went back to her stool at the end of the bar looking out over the filling dancefloor.
[ooc: feel free to pitch up and enjoy the storm!]

Lara hopped down from her stool and took his hand. "Well as my newest employee, I feel it's my duty to show you the ropes." She said, moving towards her office through the crowd. "I want to keep an eye on you until I'm sure my books are in safe hands." Pushing the door open, she smiled at him over her shoulder and shut the door behind them, sealing out the sounds of the club. She'd had Val and Riley ward the room years ago against all kinds of magic. They probably needed refreshing but hopefully they'd still be good enough to block out other peoples minds for one night.

"You spoil me. But that's okay, I'm worth it," he said, leaning in to give her cheek a kiss before letting her lead him by the hand to the back room. The more they got away from the throng of people the better he felt. The constant pressure didn't go away completely until they were in the back room though. Even then he dry swallowed another of his pills to deal with the lingering effects. "You're a saint for letting me stay here."

Waving the compliment away, Lara fussed over him a little. She didn't often do that - he was a big boy and he could more than take care of himself - but at times like this, she let her instincts and the mate bond take over. The pain must have been bad if he was taking pills, so she led him to the couch and made him take off his coat and suit jacket, peeling his tie off and undoing some of his shirt buttons until he looked at least a little more relaxed. She pushed him down to sitting and kissed his head before she went to fill up a glass with water and turned the lights down low.
"Well I'm staying so it works out for both of us." She said with a smile, picking up the cool-pack and shaking it to activate it as she sat next to him and bossed him gently into laying in her lap so she could scratch through his hair while he closed his eyes for a bit. They could talk like this but if he wanted to pass out, he could. She tucked the cool pack against the back of his neck and relaxed back into the soft leather.

It was nice to have someone fuss over him. He'd never really had that in his life before and he had to admit that it was nice. It was nice to have someone capable that wanted to take care of him and make him feel better. With each little touch and caress and fussing about he felt marginally better. Almost without really knowing it he found himself with his head in her lap as she stroked his hair. His entire body felt so relaxed that it was a struggle to stay asleep.
"Mmmmmm, you can go once I'm asleep."

Lara smiled and nodded. "Okay. But just so you know, it's definitely going on your work record. Day one: fell asleep on employer." She said quietly, tugging his hair gently and then sliding them down to rub his neck in smooth, slow circles.

"Sounds like I'm already earning a raise," he said, feeling himself drift off. It was a nice feeling, feeling everything begin to grow fuzzy. The alcohol and the pills were for sure but so was Lara's presence. Having the very last thing he remembered be here voice and the feel of her hands on him was the most relaxing thing he could think of.
