Wait out the storm in Watersong... (Open!)

Lara watched the weather closely. Looked like it was going to be a rough night. The storm had swept in a little further down the coast and it was headed their way. The bar wasn't completely full but storms either cleared out the patrons or brought them. Judging by the steadily building trickle, this was a 'bring them in' kind of night.

Stepping behind the bar, Lara grinned at Michael. "Might be busy. Better get some vodka on ice...I think snowy cocktails are going to be in demand tonight." Michael only grunted and sighed in a put upon way. She laughed and went back to her stool at the end of the bar looking out over the filling dancefloor.

[ooc: feel free to pitch up and enjoy the storm!]

"Are you still on that?" James asks with a smile as he pulls his own coat tighter around his waist. The snow is really coming down hard, and the wind has picked up even more than when he arrived. "Atleast you appreciate the house. My sister is always trying to redecorate."

He uses his key to unlock the doors to his car and climbs inside. After start the engine he waits a few seconds to turn on the heat.

"I will always be on that," Davin says with a laugh. "I love your house. Your sister should leave it alone."

He climbs into the car and settles back against the seat, holding out his hands when the heat kicks in. "Are ya sure you're okay t'drive that far? My place is a lot closer, if not nearly as nice."

"It'll be fine," James says, putting on his bright lights so they can begin the drive towards his house. The snow has made it extremely difficult to see, which is why he takes the pace extra slow. Eventually they will get there. "But you should definitely have a talk with June. She doesn't enjoy my decorating skills."

"If ya say so," Davin says with a shrug, settling back into the seat and staying quiet, not wanting to distract him from driving through such treacherous weather. It's not too long before they're pulling up to his house and Davin looks over at him, smiling fondly. "Have ya got a cozy fireplace in this cottage o' yours?"

James gives him a side glance as they slowly come up to a stop sign. "I'm tempted to tell you that not only is there a fireplace, but I cut all the wood myself. But I think you would get more ideas about this fairytale thing of yours," he says, laughing.

"Oh, stop. I'm gettin' all tingly, ya damn Disney prince." Davin looks over at James with a fond smirk, reaching over to touch his arm. "Now I'm picturin' ya choppin' wood, an' let me tell ya, it's a damn fine image."

"I'll be sure to invite you over then next time," James says, shaking his head at Davin's joke. Eventually they make it across town, traveling as slow as possible over the icy roads until they pull up to his cottage. "Here we are. One Disney cottage," he says sarcastically but he's grinning anyway, as he opens the car door.

Once out he reaches into the backseat to grab his work bag. "I hope it's everything you've imagined. There are some forest creatures that help me get dressed every morning," he says as they walk up to the front door.

A thought occurs to Davin as they trek through the snow, and that is how he doesn't think he's ever seen James in such high spirits, or so playful. Davin isn't vein enough to think that he's the whole reason for it, but he suspects that he might have played a part in it. He likes that he can make someone, especially James, feel happy.

It makes a small warmth blossom in his chest, and it's enough to protect him from the chill. He stomps his feet on the mat as they go inside, knocking the snow from his shoes and then removing his scarf and coat, watching James shyly. "Well now you're just makin' me jealous. I want little birds an' mice t'come sing a happy workin' song when I have chores t'do."
