asharpertongue | Beach BBQ [Open]

Levi's idea for a beach party had been a good one. After the past few weeks they both needed to blow off a little steam and Lara had taken to the idea like the proverbial siren to water, inviting all her employees and friends. Levi had put the word out at the police station and among his closer friends so between them a decent crowd was forming.

The tables lining the beach were piled high with food and drink, a DJ was already in full swing and people were drifting over to the large bonfire for warmth as the chill started to cut through the summer evening. A few of the Heart of Gold employees had brought their kids along for the festivities and a friend of Lara's was performing little glamours and tricks to keep them entertained. Large clusters of huge pillows were dotted about the beach just a little way from Levi's house and lanterns and firelight bathed the whole area in a warm glow.

Maybe Lara had taken it a little far but she liked to treat her friends and everyone could use a little R&R.

OOC: Levi and Lara's friends have been officially invited, but everyone else feel free to wander in at your leisure~.

"Lara, please! You think the police would let anyone they know isn't human onto the force," she grins. "He's a precious baby human and he's going to be in love with me in a week, I tell you."

Lara snorted. "The challenge for you would be to not seduce him."

"But what would be the fun in that? And why would I deny myself another minion?" she laughs, taking a good sip of her drink.

"You don't have enough?" Lara laughed, knocking back half her glass.

"Never. I need one for every task in my daily life, of course."

Lara would have been concerned about that statement from any other siren. Over the years she'd had to banish more than one siren for their attempts to form a harem.

As it was, she knew she didn't have to worry about Alex. Her control was impressive and she was by no means a collector. She liked having people fall at her feet but she didn't keep them there for long. Something or someone else was always more attractive after a while.

She grinned. "Sock boy, ironing boy, chef boy...What will you task this one with?"

"Filing boy," she sighs. "James has been on my ass to get rid of the pile of unsorted files lately. Like I don't work hard enough already, right?"

"You are truly a martyr to your work. We should have you canonised." Lara replied solemnly.

"Don't saints have to be celibate?" she asks with a frown. "Because I am very much not ok with being canonised if that's so."

"I'm pretty sure ninety percent of saints weren't at all saintly so I think you're good."

"Awesome. Sainthood it is then. As long as I can still bang whoever I want, I'm good. Speaking of, you have some ridiculously attractive ladies at this party, Lara."

"Thank you, Alex." She looked around as some of the Heart of Gold employees wandered past. "I am known for my taste." She grinned. "Of course the roster would be improved with your face..." It was an old tease, but one Lara never failed to use.

Alex smirks slightly. "Unless I can work the police station and the good old Aych Oh Gee, then I'll have to pass."

"What would your commander say? A police officer and an escort. Think of the scandal." Lara said, with a mock horrified look. The commander of the Siren Cove force was actually a big client of two of her male escorts and she and Alex both knew it.

"Gosh, I know! That'd be like... I dunno, a police commander hiring an escort regularly!" she gasps, lashes fluttering in painfully fake shock. "That would just be wrong."

"Shocking." Lara agreed. "Imagine if it ever got out."

"That'd be horrible! Then I couldn't use it for blackmail," she smirks.

Lara laughed heartily. "You're going to go far with that attitude."

"Just you wait," Alex grins, finishing off her drink. "This time next year, I'll be officially running that precinct."

"Oh please. You much prefer pulling the strings behind the scenes. That's what makes you a good siren."

Alex sighs dreamily. "I so do. Even if I don't always get the recognition for the various badass shit I bring into being."

Lara patted Alex's knee. "I appreciate you. And men and women appreciate you on a nightly basis. Any more appreciation and you'll never get through the door of the station with such a swollen head."

"They appreciate me so well," she grins, biting her lip. "And I appreciate them back, for the most part. Especially the ladies."

Lara grinned. "Have a little preference for anyone lately?" She asked, examining her nails.

"Not in particular. I've got my eye on a couple ladies at this party that may get my undivided attention for awhile though, I have to admit."
