Night Swimming (Open)

It's been a trying day...week...month, if she's honest. The situation with Bach and the missing elders was getting on her last nerve.

She needed a swim.

Pulling her phone from her bag, she sent a text to a few of the more senior members of the siren community:

Night swimming tonight from sundown on the wrecking beach. All welcome. Food and drink provided. Please spread the word.

That should do it.

She send another note to her contacts at the police station so the unaware human element would be steered away. The wards would be up around the beach, discouraging vanilla humans from coming down there but it didn't hurt to have insurance in these matters.

Hopefully the sirens would come, maybe some of the witches. It would be nice to sprawl on the rocks for a few hours with friends.

"Wow." She beams. "Can I try it once? And have a siren try to flirt with me? I mean, I never really experienced magic before."

"Of course you can. The next time we go swimming. I'll get my girl to part you up."

It doesn't hurt or anything? And I don't have to get ..really naked, right? Just maybe my chest?"

[asharpertongue]

"No. It's stronger over the heart but it can work anywhere."

[louise_abasi]

"Because I don't have the best pair of breasts."

[asharpertongue]

Lara scoffs. "Bullshit."

[louise_abasi]

"And what do you know about my breasts?" She covers them. "Have you been watching me while I'm sleeping?"

[asharpertongue]

"Didn't you know that was one of our superpowers?" Lara grinned.

[louise_abasi]

"Breast knowledge of midnight stalking?"

[asharpertongue]

Lara nods solemnly. "Forgive me. I can't help myself."

[louise_abasi]

"I should let James know that I found the culprit that messes up my plants."

[asharpertongue]

She puts on a mock horrified face. "Oh no! Not James!"

[louise_abasi]

"I know you fear him, don't deny it."

[asharpertongue]

"Yes. He terrifies me." She says, deadpan.

[louise_abasi]

"I know. That's why I try to keep the two of you apart."

[asharpertongue]

"And it's why I love you so dearly."

[louise_abasi]

"So does James, although he'd never admit it."

[asharpertongue]

"The day he does is the day I propose marriage to him."

[louise_abasi]

"Oh no, sweetie. Don't think I'll get there first."

[asharpertongue]

Lara shoved her friend lightly, laughing. "I'd rather not think about it."

[louise_abasi]

"What, you don't want to see me happy?"

[asharpertongue]

"With someone that deserves you."

[louise_abasi]

"Maybe James is very gentle when it comes to me."

[asharpertongue]

She cocked her head. "Oh? DO tell."

[louise_abasi]

"Sometimes he smiles at me when I talk to him."
