Beach BBQ [Open]

Levi's idea for a beach party had been a good one. After the past few weeks they both needed to blow off a little steam and Lara had taken to the idea like the proverbial siren to water, inviting all her employees and friends. Levi had put the word out at the police station and among his closer friends so between them a decent crowd was forming.

The tables lining the beach were piled high with food and drink, a DJ was already in full swing and people were drifting over to the large bonfire for warmth as the chill started to cut through the summer evening. A few of the Heart of Gold employees had brought their kids along for the festivities and a friend of Lara's was performing little glamours and tricks to keep them entertained. Large clusters of huge pillows were dotted about the beach just a little way from Levi's house and lanterns and firelight bathed the whole area in a warm glow.

Maybe Lara had taken it a little far but she liked to treat her friends and everyone could use a little R&R.

OOC: Levi and Lara's friends have been officially invited, but everyone else feel free to wander in at your leisure~.

"Good. I'm glad. I'm not going anywhere for awhile," he smiles. "And seriously, Lara's projects will keep me busy."

"Are you going to be doing work around the Watersong then?" she asks, curious. "That'd be fun. I could say hi on my way to lessons!"

"Maybe?" He shrugs. "Anywhere she wants me. She talked about fixing up employee homes and then some projects in her own place."

"Wow. You're gonna be pretty busy then, huh?" she asks, laying back and just letting herself float idly for awhile. "She'd better treat you well and pay you good. Tell me if she isn't, because she may be my mentor and important to me, but I can still kick her butt for you."

"Hopefully!" He smirks because the amount Lara offered him was ridiculous and more than he could've imagined. "I feel safe knowing you'l protect me."

She knows he's teasing. She's not exactly a fighter and tends to rely on politeness and the weird urge people get to protect her to handle situations. "Oh good, because I'm totally prepared to go full on scary monster siren on your behalf," she grins.

"Oh man, there's no need for all that. You'll scare her," he says, smiling mischieviously.

"I dunno... Lara's pretty tough, and she is the momma siren," she grins back. "I think she can handle it."

[jasonwright]

"Can you handle her then?"

[littleredsiren]

"...No guarantees," she laughs. "Lara's very much a steamroller of a person, and I mean that in a very flattering way."

"Maybe you should just steer clear with the whole beating up thing, huh?"

[littleredsiren]

"Maaaybe, yeah. I'll have to hire muscle. Like a mafia boss," she grins broadly.

"There you go. Use your powers to get a bodyguard."

[littleredsiren]

"Perfect. I'll never have to worry about creeps bugging me while I'm out walking again," she grins. "Plus I can use them to make sure my friends get treated right."
