Beach BBQ [Open]

Levi's idea for a beach party had been a good one. After the past few weeks they both needed to blow off a little steam and Lara had taken to the idea like the proverbial siren to water, inviting all her employees and friends. Levi had put the word out at the police station and among his closer friends so between them a decent crowd was forming.

The tables lining the beach were piled high with food and drink, a DJ was already in full swing and people were drifting over to the large bonfire for warmth as the chill started to cut through the summer evening. A few of the Heart of Gold employees had brought their kids along for the festivities and a friend of Lara's was performing little glamours and tricks to keep them entertained. Large clusters of huge pillows were dotted about the beach just a little way from Levi's house and lanterns and firelight bathed the whole area in a warm glow.

Maybe Lara had taken it a little far but she liked to treat her friends and everyone could use a little R&R.

OOC: Levi and Lara's friends have been officially invited, but everyone else feel free to wander in at your leisure~.

"New Orleans, huh? Must be a big change for you. What brings you to a little town like this then?" she asks, curious to learn more about the woman. It's rare she takes an interest in someone enough to ask about their history, but Genevieve is ridiculously hot, and clearly has good taste, and that puts her firmly in Alex's "interested" books.

"Well, after a Voudon priest put a curse on me because I stole his girlfriend, I thought it might be a good time to go visit family," she said, giving a wicked grin. Sure it was only an apprentice Voudon priest and the curse was shit, but it was a good excuse to come somewhere she might learn more about her magic.

"And I kind of like it here. I've never seen so much nice scenery," she added, glancing at one of the other lovely ladies at the party, making it clear she wasn't talking about the Maine coastline.

Alex quirks an eyebrow at Genevieve's story. "Only been cursed for it once, but I've stolen plenty of girlfriends," she smirks. "It isn't one of those 'affects everyone around you' curses, is it? Because I have dealt with those more than once and I am so not in the mood for that right now."

She follows the woman's gaze and chuckles. "If you ask me, the scenery improved substantially recently, but the town does have a certain... charm to it."

Genevieve liked this woman more and more. This was the sort of woman that, when Genevieve was just a preteen and figuring things out, she thought would be super good friends with her and they'd be best friends. Later, when she was older, she realized that actually meant she was into girls and wanted to do all sorts of things with them. Normally Genevieve was the more aggressive, confident one in situations but this time she didn't feel that way and it was... odd.

"No, it's only if I'm in the city of New Orleans that my bones will be ground to dust, so you're safe. Maybe some time you can help show me some of the... charms of the town?"

"Anytime you want, darling," Alex grins lazily. Her forte might be seducing men out of their money, but flirting with women was always so much more satisfying. "I'll clear my schedule, just for you."

"You're either very flattering or very generous and I approve of both," Genevieve said, grinning at the woman. Maybe, maybe she was a little flushed as well but that might have just been a sunburn that came and went very rapidly.

"Mostly flattering," Alex grins back, taking note of the slight redness to her cheeks with pleasure. "Not many people would describe me as 'generous', if I'm being honest. But I can be persuaded, under the right circumstances."

"And what are the right circumstances?" Genevieve asked, because that was something that was suddenly rather important to her interests. Plus, some people were just really fun to flirt with and Alex seemed like one of them.

"Ones that involve liquor, a hot chick, and maybe dinner, though the last thing is optional," she says, grinning wolfishly. It's been awhile since she's really gotten to flirt with a woman and she's realizing how much she missed it now.

"Well, I see a hot woman, lots of alcohol, and I know where you could find something to eat," Genevieve said, smirking as she took another drink of her beer, keeping eye contact with the other woman the entire time. There was a warm, giddy feeling fluttering through her that had little to do with the alcohol.

"If you need some time to make up your mind though, I think I see the midi vs for body shots."

"Mmm... And where would that be?" Alex asks, tilting her head. She liked where this was going, and she was plenty willing to go along with the flow of it all.

"Well that depends," Genevieve said, doing her best not to show any of the giddy-nervousness that she felt at the woman's interest.

"If you're looking for a long... meal then we can go back to where I live. If you just want a quick something to eat, there's open space and pillows we can appropriate... if you don't mind everyone hearing you scream."

Alex smirks, glad they're on the same page. "I think I'm in the mood for a long meal tonight. It's been awhile since I've gotten to just sit back and enjoy someone's company over dinner."

Well. That was certainly the option that Genevieve has been hoping for and if Alex wanted to sit back and enjoy Genevieve's company she was all for that.

"Shall we grab a couple of bottles of the good stuff then and head out?"

"Sounds like a plan to me," she says, stretching out before tossing out her cup and heading to the table laden with bottles of booze. "What's your poison then?"

Genevieve felt a bit giddy at the woman's acceptance and already felt a heat coiling through her that she couldn't wait to feel build and build even more. It didn't help that it was so easy to check out Alex's ass as she walked away.

"Is there an expensive bottle of whiskey?" She asked. Because if she wasn't paying for it she wasn't going cheap.

Alex picks through the pile of bottles at the impromptu 'bar' and comes up with a bottle of high quality whiskey, holding it out for inspection. "This work for you?"

"Absolutely," she said, not even really looking at it because she didn't care, she cared about getting out of here with Alex. Genevieve had already found the only high quality thing she was interested in at the party.

"Now how about we head out and see about getting something to eat?"

Tucking the bottle into her purse, she gestures for Genevieve to lead the way. "That sounds like a brilliant plan if I've ever heard one," she smirks. "After you then."

"My car is just a little ways up the beach," she said, turning to give the woman a playful smile. "And the house isn't very far after that. If we make it that far."

"Well, you are just full of convenient surprises, aren't you?" Alex smiles back, following at an easy pace and definitely not using the distance between them to check out Genevieve's ass.

"Oh trust me, I have a lot of very good surprises," she said, turning to walk backward for a moment to flash the other woman a flirty grin. The hook up seemed a foregone thing but that didn't mean Genevieve didn't enjoy the flirty.

"I bet you have some of your own," she added, turning back around.

"I may," Alex grins. That is such an understatement. She's absolutely full of secrets but, if she has her way, they'll be remaining that way. "You'll just have to find them out, won't you?"
