"I know," Joel says and he thinks maybe he should be surprised that he says it with such certainty, but he doesn't doubt Spencer at all. He hasn't doubted him from the beginning. The day after the lighthouse he'd been scared, terrifed that Spencer couldn't possibly want him after he'd put him in such danger, but if he had truly believed there hadn't been a chance for them at all, he wouldn't have gone to Spencer's house. And from that moment, the second Spencer had said those words -- I don't want you to leave. -- Joel hasn't doubted him for a second. It's a strange feeling sometimes, to be so sure of something when he's really never had anything like this before, but when the doubts come up, they're never about Spencer. They're never about his own feelings either, it's always an outside source, someone like Mark Fuller, people who might want to disrupt what they have for whatever reason.

But he's not thinking of that now. He can't, not when Spencer's hands are warm against the small of his back and he sinks into the kiss easily, a soft little moan escaping him when Spencer's teeth scrape his lower lip. At the question, he closes one eye as if he's thinking intently, then shrugs, opening it again. "I already spoke with Lara. Have you seen Levi?" He figures if they've been here long enough to speak with both their hosts, that's more an an acceptable length of time and no one will think poorly of them for leaving early.

Not that he much cares what anyone else thinks of him, but he doesn't want Lara or Levi to assume they hadn't had a good time. Lara will likely understand, she's listened patiently to Joel ramble about Spencer several times now and he sees the way she looks at Levi. He's far from the only person at this party who is completely head over heels, and as long as they've said hello, he thinks they've done their duty as party goers. "If we have both hosts covered, I think we've been here long enough," he decides, his hands sliding down from Spencer's waist, both moving over the curve of his ass before he squeezes lightly and drags their bodies together. The little bit of whiskey is making him brave, far more forward than he would usually be in public.
